Speaking of Modern, this iconic Danish Modern masterpiece by Hans
Wegner was a birthday gift in 1957 to John O’Shea, Professor of Art
Kansas State University. It cleverly, and quite practically, serves as chair
and valet in the gentleman’s dressing room. The hinged seat lifts to
create a hanger for trousers while the sculptural oak back with its teak
inlays properly supports one’s sport coat.
It found a new home at $6,500 in our June 16, 2023 auction.
