131: A GOOD PAIR OF 19TH C. CARTOUCHE FORM ROCOCO MIRRORS

A matched pair of 19th century carved, gessoed and gilded wood mirrors retaining their original finish with good patina. Each cartouche pierced crest surmounted by rocaille and acanthus, long ovoid plate within a scrolling conforming leafage frame surrounded by acanthus-leaf-carved C-scrolls and similar termination. The overall size of each is 62 x 24 inches. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Very good intact original condition with scattered repairs and reinforcements commensurate with age visible primarily verso. Some chipping, separations and cracking are visible from the finished side, no major losses, replacements or repairs, sturdy and very good overall.
