The finest offering to-date from the vast, encyclopedic and eclectic collection of John Adair. This sale offers his best Japanese baskets and fireman’s jackets, his rarest prints depicting the arrival of Commodore Perry’s “Black Ships” in 1853, and choice examples of tansu and kuruma dansu. This along with a selection of unframed lithographs by Alexander Calder in excellent condition, and other Postwar Modern art.
