A sterling silver presentation compact circa 1940 with monogram on the lid and 25+ signatures engraved verso, hinged powder well with sifter and puff in the base and a beveled mirror in the lid, unmarked, measures 3 inches, weighs 3.85 ozt. without the puff and sifter. Plus an enameled sterling silver cigarette case, engraved 'Clotilda Lane Laidlaw' inside the lid, gilded interior, French silver hallmarks in the lid, measures 3.25 x 2.5 inches, weighs 3.23 troy oz.
Shallow dent on the signature side of the sterling compact. Light scratches to the enamel on the other. Good condition overall.
