202: A CRYSTAL BOX WITH 1902 BIRMINGHAM STERLING COVER

A cut crystal dresser box of shaped lozenge form, the body cut with button and bow design and starburst cut bottom, the repoussé lid of C-scrolls, scrolling vines, flowers and fruit on a stippled ground and terminating in an undulating wave edge. The sterling cover bears the hallmarks of Arthur Fillmore Pennington, Birmingham, 1902. Measures 1.75 x 4.5 x 3 inches. Silver marked lid weighs .85 troy oz.
