A good circa 1899 etched stein with unusual inlaid conical lid, the scene of a knight and castle signed Heinr. Schlitt in the etched decoration, impressed markings under the base include Mettlach with Abbey trademark, GEGEN NACHBILDUNG GESCHUTZT, numerals 2580, date mark 1899. An engraved dedication of Arnold von Wildenstein der Bitterschatt on the pewter rim of the lid. Measures 11.25 inches high.
