311: A 19TH C. NAPOLEONIC ORMOLU-MOUNTED SEVRES-TYPE URN

The baluster form cobalt ground body with a painted oval of Napoleon and generals on the battlefield artist signed H. Desprez, the opposite side a view of soldiers near a disabled canon with battle being waged in the background, the cobalt ground decorated in gold enamels that include the first French Empire Imperial eagle clutching lightning bolts, rococo swirls, beading and the initial 'N', the domed cover with an acanthus bud finial, bronze mounts and nicely toned bronze swan heads at each side. Measures 27 x 10 inches across the handles. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
The original cover has been damaged and repaired as shown with this repair being visible from the top side and inside. Two gold beads are lost from the frame around the image, otherwise good without damage or repair or wear in any other areas. Light crazing throughout.
