The hollow body abstracted composition of a recumbent deer in stainless steel on stand is attributed to the London, England craftsman and artist Euan Cunningham (20th / 21st Century), best known for his outsized exterior sculpture and installations. There are no markings on the figure or base.
Measures 22.75 x 18 x 8 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or wear.
Provenance: The estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland.In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving, and the arts. Of their many contributions to the community, 'The Soslands gave one of the nation's finest private collections of American Indian art to the Nelson-Atkins' museum (nelson-atkins.org).
