465: 19TH CENTURY AMERICAN STONEWARE AND DOCUMENT BOX

The large jug with unusual glaze and characteristics of manufacture is offered along with a Midwestern stoneware spaniel in Albany slip glaze (as-is), and an early 19th century document box with domed hinged lid centered by a simple iron handle over the case with dovetailed corners, original black paint throughout.
Jug measures 19 x 11 inches. Dog is 7.5 inches. Box measures 8.25 x 11 x 7.5 inches.
Very good condition, noting the spaniel has broken through areas as shown and the box has extra holes from previous hasps and letters carved in the lid which also has a hinged door added inside.
