Le Vent Qui Passe emporte la Jeunesse for Panneau Decoratif (Circa 1899.)
The black lithographic line work image with vivid hand coloring 'au pochoir' with watercolor and gold embossing, Le Vent Qui Passe emporte la Jeunesse (The Passing Wind Takes Away Youth), 1899, the 'Panneau Decoratif' published by F. Champenois, Paris, signed Mucha and dated 99 in the image plate, the depiction of a lady's evening fan with an elaborate handle and chain, female figure in foreground releases leaves or flower petals to the wind, the larger figure behind her represents the wind of ever-changing destiny.
This may be the only Mucha panneau in which all of the coloring was hand applied through stencils.
Exhibited Hallmark 2005.
Measures 21 1/2 inches h x 15 inches w - sight, 30 1/2 inches h x 23 1/2.
Very good condition, the complete sheet, not laid down, no stain, damage or repair, noting a printer's smudge upper left of the image and a faint halo outline from a former mat.
