98: AN ALBUMEN PHOTO OF SEVEN UNION CIVIL WAR SOLDIERS


The quarto albumen photograph print mounted to stiff card stock board, the photographer's label Anderson's Photographic Art Palace Richmond, VA on the reverse side, the image includes what appear to be several colonels and/or general officers, the man at the center of the photograph, looking to the left ( his right ), appears to be a cavalry officer, possibly with the 1th Pennsylvania Cavalry regiment that served in the Appomattox Campaign, and ended up at Richmond in late April, 1865. the seated gentleman on the left side of the table appears to be showing the opposite officer a photograph album, circa 1865.
Anderson and Anderson's Photographic Studio purportedly took some 500 photographs of Confederate soldiers during the war. The archive that exists of his photographs can be found in Richmond's Valentine Museum.
Image measures 9.5 x 12 and the board is 12.25 x 14.75 inches.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of scratches, losses, repairs, or damage.
