249: AN ITALIAN MAIOLICA FAIENCE CHARGER CIRCA 1800

The central Istoriato of Classical maidens and mythical sea creatures surrounded by typical Italianate designs of reptiles, marine mollusks, griffins and urns on blue ground divided by four reserves in white ground with masks flanked by winged griffins, tin glaze on faience body, a conjoined makers mark of AP back side.
Measures 2.5 x 24 inches.
Good to very good condition. There are no cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear. An issue at the edge near 2 o'clock position that looks to be very slightly more than the typical glaze loss typical to tin glazed faience 17th to 19th century.
