296: A LATE QING / EARLY REPUBLIC CHINESE DRAGON DISH

Chinese Dragon dish of porcelain with overglaze enamels, late Qing to Republic period. The design features an interior of white graviata wave ground with two finely-painted five-clawed dragons, one red the other blue, vying for a flaming jewel and surrounded by multicolored flames, surrounded by a shallow yellow ground rim with floral and auspicious symbols. The exterior of powder blue ground with floral designs and 'shou' characters in red. Center of base with single five-clawed dragon, flames, and flaming jewel entwined around an apocryphal six-character Qianlong base mark in blue. Measures 2 x 11 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs. Some areas of minor gold wear.
