A 19TH C. 800 SILVER TRIPTYCH FIGURE OF ANNE BOLEY

137: A 19TH C. 800 SILVER TRIPTYCH FIGURE OF ANNE BOLEY

An .800 silver female figure, probably a depiction of Anne Boleyn, with carved ivory face and neck, stamped marking of .800 near German hallmarks on the base. The front skirt below the waist opens to present an intricately chased triptych depicting a 16th century court scene with attendants. Measures 10.5 x 3.25 inches. A silver plated base with green marble is included.
Good condition noting tarnish and minor wear, it appears that the silver portions were lacquered some time ago and now that lacquer has begun to lift and creates unevenness and yellowing on the surface. The ivory head is loose and detached but intact.
