133: C. 1780 DIAMOND AND GEMSTONE SILVER OVER GOLD BRAC

A fine and delicate filigree bracelet comprised of a central roundel with wrist band with clasp. The central roundel is a lacy filigree silver-on-gold design centered by an oval ruby in silver mount encircled by eight diamonds in yellow gold buttercup settings; on either side is a green crown depicted by five irregular cut emeralds in gold. A lacy border of delicate silver swirls and twenty rose-cut diamonds surrounds this central design. The band is comprised of end-to-end hinged gold squares topped by four rose cut diamonds at each corner in oxidized silver buttercup settings and centered by a squarish sapphire, ruby or emerald in gold. Each link's hinge pin is capped by two Persian Gulf natural pearls. Circa late 18th century, perhaps English or French in origin. The bracelet length is 6.5 inches and weight 30 grams. Unmarked, the gold portion tests 14 karat.
Excellent condition. One missing emerald in the 'crown' device on central roundel. There are no other missing stones and no damage, no repair, no evidence of wear, there are no cracked stones. No sign of wear can be found. The catch is strong and tight. Very fine condition.
