78: A GOOD 19TH C. BLACK FOREST CUCKOO CLOCK WITH FOX

A nice large example 26 x 17 x 10 inches, the carved bird in detail above grapes and leaves on the gable end over two doors, the left door for the mechanical bird signaling each quarter hour with 1,2,3 or four tones; the right door opens for the bird signaling each hour, wood chapter ring with applied roman numerals, scroll cut hands, grape vine framing, a well proportioned wood carving of a fox below the dial, original matching weights and pendulum. Great patina overall. We happily provide seamless in-house packing and shipping services on nearly everything we sell.
Good original condition with nicely aged wood patina coloring, a few minor repairs in the grape leaves, a chip from the minute hand. Cleaned, oiled and new bellows August of 2015. Very good running and 'chiming' condition, both bird automatons work well, loud cuckoo report, all very good at the time of inspection. Timepieces cannot be guaranteed for mechanical and time keeping.
