143: A COLLECTION OF C. 1920S FRENCH COMPOSITE PHOTOS

Twenty-nine examples of a novel photography process where layering two or three images of an individual engaged in related but slightly different activities or making slightly different facial expressions results in a flashing or moving image when moved to different positions. The varying images are layered and processed in a manner that creates a final product that projects movement and a changing image, 35 mm cine film was typically used to create the final product. Some of the examples here have advertising for a French cafe. Each measures 3 x 2.25 inches.
