90: A CUSTOM MONUMENTAL HORNER-STYLE MAHOGANY HALL SEA

A high quality contemproary custom bench made recreation of the rare and famous RJ Horner wrap-tailed lady hall seat; the massive crest with central cabochon surrounded by winged sirens, griffins and flowers above mirror bordered with egg-and-dart molding and bracketed by wrap-tail lady columns. Two large decorative panels, one in seat back and one fronting storage bench, decorated with reclining cherubs surrounded by sea serpents, Four Winds and details of fruit, the arm rests supported by crouching winged griffins, wagon wheel carving along top edge of seat and lip of generously-sized storage compartment, the bottom of seat framed by horned figures over squashed face feet. This is one of only ten custom made by skilled crfstmen based on the original circa 1890 – and this being the only one known to be available on the market at this time. Measures 104 x 63 x 22 inches. Excellent flawless original condition.
