302: A MEISSEN BLUE ONION WITH RED BUD COVERED DISH

A rare variation on the Meissen 'Blue Onion' pattern typically found in blue only; this 19th century example being an ornate form with the standard blue on white embellished with orange and red highlights, shell and plume feather handles on circular base with scalloped edges and footed base, a high dome cover with scrolling porcelain flourish handle, blue crossed swords Meissen mark under the base. Measures 7 x 13.25 x 10.75 inches.
Very good, there are no chips, cracks or repairs, areas of minor light gold trim wear.
