259: A BRONZE MOUNTED CONTINENTAL PORCELAIN CLOCK SET

A three-piece clock garniture, blue and white porcelain mounted with brass or bronze, the clock topped by an acanthus finial on high dome cover bolted to the baluster form body with lion masks either side of the porcelain enamel clock dial with roman numeral chapter ring and Arabic numeral minutes scale in Arabic numerals, the French time and strike brass plate movement signed 'Hors Concours/L.P. Japy Et Cie/1878'. The two matching side pieces of matching baluster form porcelain on bronze base and issuing four scrolling candle holding arms and a central twisted stem with candle holder. Garniture measure 18 x 7 x 7 inches, clock 16.5 x 5.75 inches.
Very good condition throughout, some loose and uneven fittings, no damage or repair. The running and time keeping condition is unknown.
