8: AN UNUSUAL 19TH C. KEY WIND PLATFORM HORSE ON WHEELS

A carved, gessoed and painted horse figure on painted wood platform set with iron spoke wheels and unusual key wind clockwork mechanism. Measures 14 x 15.5 x 4.5 inches. The mechanism winds tight and works well powering the back wheels, the front wheels swivel on their mount allowing the toy to move in arcs and circles. The key is a modern replacement. 
All original, minor loss and wear, chips and missing harness.
