258: RED BARN' SERVICE PLATES AFTER THE WORKS OF DALE NICHOLS

Nine plates from a set that originally numbered twelve, each being a different composition after original works by American regionalist Dale Nichols (1904 - 1995). Dale Nichols was considered a leading American artist during the 1930s. Each plate is titled by month, the set is known as the Red Barn Series, a reference to Nichols' iconic Red Barn motif found in the majority of his agrarian theme works form the 1930s. The set was originally produced for B. Altman & Co. New York, by Adams Pottery of England and limited to an edition of 600, this being numbered 214. Each plate has a diameter of 10.5 inches. The original box is included.
Very good condition, there are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or wear. A factory blemish in gold on the rim on one, crazing to some.
