66: AN EARLY ANTIQUE MECHANICAL PENCIL SHARPENER AS FOUND

This unusual design can be attributed to either Avanti, a German make or the Automatic True Point Sharpener No 3419, also thought to be a German sharpener. Both utilized the same mechanical design. This example is missing its shavings holder which would have displayed the maker's label and other information. Painted steel pencil sharpener with a six-blade cutting wheel that sharpens while the mechanism rotates the pencil. Measures 5 x 4.5 x 4.5 inches.
Scratches and chips to the painted surfaces, mechanism turns freely, very good working condition, the shavings bin is absent.
