351: THREE LARGE ASIAN PORCELAIN DISHES

A 19th century Japanese Seto ware round porcelain dish with hand-painted underglaze blue design of two potted plants in a garden framed by a banana palm tree, unmarked. Measures 18.5 inches in diameter. A Japanese porcelain dish with hand-painted underglaze blue design of scholars in a pleasure boat on the night of a full moon, an illustration of the celebrated First Prose Poem on the Red Cliff by Su Shi (Chinese, 1037-1101), with the text of the poem written above the scene and continuing onto the outer rim; signed on base, Otani ware and name of decorator, 20th century. Measures 2.5 x 18.5 inches. And an antique blue and white porcelain lobed dish measuring 2.75 x 15.25 x 11.5 inches. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust.
