375: A 19TH C. BLUE DECORATED JUG SIGNED A. J. BUTLER

The beehive form stoneware jug with straight rim and flat mouth above the impressed mark of A.J. BUTTLER MANUFACTURER, NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. embellished in cobalt over a large numeral 2 with side wreaths all applied by hand in cobalt slip.
Measures 13.75 x 9 inches.
Very good condition noting a chip on the upper rim. There are no other chips, cracks, repairs or areas of heavy wear.
