269: A 19TH C. FRENCH EMPIRE STYLE BRONZE DORE CLOCK

The case surmounted by an elegant gold plated lyre (a break at one tip) beside a classical maiden seated on the rectangular case with a front frieze of bas relief cherubs in a woodland scene, all on four toupie feet. The time and strike movement faced with an enamel dial having hand painted Roman numerals. The measurements are 13.75 x 11.75 x 5 inches. Minor damage and lacking pendulum. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Good original ormolu finish, the dial with fine hairlines and wear at the keyholes, a tip is broken from the lyre surmount, the running condition is unknown, the pendulum and back cover are lost. Nice original patina.
