255: A 19TH CENTURY LOUIS XVI STYLE MARQUETRY CABINET

Rectangular marble top with waterleaf brass-mounted edge, over conforming shallow breakfront case, frieze fitted with a secret release top drawer centered by a mask of Apollo flanked by sphinx and laurel swags framed by paneled banding; a central cupboard door with inlaid marquetry of ribboned floral basket flanked by two paneled bookmatched cupboard doors trimmed in bronze with finely chased gilt caryatid pilasters on square tapering foliate columns, the whole raised on twisted fluted legs terminating in brass caps. Measures 44 x 46 x 18 inches. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Very good original condition free from major damage, repair, replacements or heavy wear. Minor marble chip front left side, a small marble repair back right corner, wear below the doors inside their opening.
