254: A LARGE FINE 19TH C. FRENCH EMPIRE MANTLE CLOCK

An ormolu bronze clock surmounted by classically draped maiden with sword seated on a recamier above the clock dial with swan and dolphin spandrels around the laurel wreath frame encircling an engine turned clock face with black Roman numerals; all on a rectangular plinth fronted by a plaque depicting a roman soldier addressing a woman lounging on a recamier. The time and strike movement with single chime bell is unsigned. Measures 24.5 x 15.5 inches. The time keeping condition is not known. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Very good condition, the original finish intact noting minor variation in tone of the base. Very good condition overall free from damage, repair or replacement.
