245: A 20TH C. FRENCH GILT BRONZE-MOUNTED PARQUETRY COMMODE

An early 20th century French transitional-style the rectangular white with gray veined marble breakfront top above conforming case with metal mounted forme d'onde frieze fitted with three short drawers over two long drawers with inlaid sans traverse gilt-banded with reserves of entrelac and bookmatched inlay, between chamfered stiles with mounted husk-draped triglyph chutes, the sides with conforming inlaid reserves, and raised on cabriole legs with acanthus headed paw-cast sabots. Fitted with brass beaded pulls and decorative gilt key plate. Measures 33 x 65 x 25 inches. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Minor veneer flakes from the front and side lower edges, as well as the top right edge of the top drawer, the marble top has been broken in half and repaired and is in need of repair once more.
