192: A SEVRES STYLE KILN FIRED ENAMEL AND PORCELAIN BOX

An unusual circular dresser box with kiln fired enamel on copper cushion top set within the hinged lid and mounted on a porcelain base. The cover centered by a hand painted scene with children picking flowers along a veranda with column, the scene surrounded by a ring of white enamel beading and blue ground enamel border with gold tracery. The base with wide gold rim and fine line designs in gold on white porcelain. The two halves are joined by a common ormolu liner, the base bears a blue mark with interlaced 'L' in the style of those from the Sevres porcelain factory. Measures 3.5 x 7.75 inches. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Scattered chips from the blue enamel portions of the cover and bead loss to same. The porcelain base good without chips, cracks or repairs.
