170: A VERY FINE 19TH C. BLEU CELESTE SEVRES POTPOURRI

A classic Sevres porcelain covered dish with highest quality bronze ormolu mounts and gold decoration on bleu celeste ground. The dome shape cover with bronze acanthus bud finial atop the porcelain cover decorated in gold enamel rococo swirls surrounding a hand painted oval of 18th century courting couple in a woodland scene artist signed G. Poitevin, the opposite side hand painted with a woodland lake scene.
The lid sits in a fine quality openwork ormolu casting of undulating intertwined laurel leaves and berries mounted with rococo handles on a bowl shape body decorated in gold enamel rococo swirls over the heavy acanthus trim ring joining the porcelain socle to the conforming heavy bronze ormolu base. The interior of the lid and bowl are decorated with polychrome floral sprays. The overall size is 12 inches high and 10 inches wide across the handles. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Very nice condition noting one small area of gold trim wear at the rim of the cover. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or other areas of wear.
