167: A SEVRES STYLE VASE WITH BRONZE SIGNED GRISARD LIMOGES

Now converted to a lamp, the baluster form cobalt ground porcelain body with hand painted classical scene of semi-nude maiden and cherubs at a waterfall within a gold oval reserve artist-signed E. Grisard; the reverse side a castle on lake scene, both paintings surrounded by gold enamels. The domed cover trimmed in an egg-and-dart bronze mount above top quality chased and stippled bronze classical sphinx figures in fine detail and finish, the socle trimmed in acanthus and foliate bronze mounts, a conforming square bronze base on four toupie feet.
Signed W.G. & Co. Limoges France in green under glaze inside the porcelain socle for Wm. Guérin & Co. - Limoges (1900 - 1932).
The bronze-mounted vase with cover measures 23 x 11 inches, a total height of 38 inches to the finial. The decoration is completely hand painted without decal or transfer to any degree. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Excellent condition free from damage, repair or excessive wear. Both the gold enamels and the dore bronze remain bright. Very fine overall, all original, no condition issues to report.
