124: A 19C. CAPODIMONTE TYPE BACCHANALIA THEME CENTERPIECE

A late 19th century continental porcelain centerpiece on four dolphin feet. The upper flaring basket weave rim over an oblong bowl decorated with four different oval vignettes of cherubs in high relief porcelain harvesting and enjoying the grape, the base with two large Bacchus masks over a plinth-like lower portion having seated winged figures on dolphins at each corner draped with festoons of flowers and fruit in high relief and a golden bull's head at each end. There are no markings. Measures 11h x 13w x 10.5 inches. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs, one thin line of unnatural looking glaze and trim at the gold along the top edge of one lobe, presumably a factory flaw. Otherwise good gold condition without wear.
