122: A 24-INCH PAIR OF 19TH C. CAPODIMONTE-TYPE BOLTED VASES

A very impressive pair of Bachanalia theme bolted porcelain urns. Each cover topped by a proper pair of putto with upraised arms, one holding grapes, the other a goblet; large full bodied semi-nude maidens hang from each rim, applied grape clusters and bacchanalia scenes incorporating multiple figures engaged in music, drink, nude figures and charging canines in high relief cover every side of the body; the bolted four-footed base with figural mythological male and female mermaid-like figures with split fish tails along with putto playing seashell horns. Signed by a blue crowned letter N and 'Saxony' hand painted in green under each base. The pair measures 24 x 10 inches each. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Very good condition. There are NO chips, cracks, repairs, nicks, flakes, or losses, save two very minor spots of color loss from two grapes in to different clusters. One cover putto appears to have discoloration on the upper arm holding an upraised goblet and on the upper body, this presumably from an old repair. There are NO other repairs or restoration.
There are no other instances of repair, restoration, chipping, breaks, flaws or condition issues of any type. The two halves are slightly loose on their bolted connection.
