109: MONUMENTAL 19C. FRENCH BRONZE CANDELABRA WITH GEMSTONES

An important pair of monumental 19th century French bronze candelabra, each with a circular acanthus adorned foot supporting four cast juvenile figures playing musical instruments sitting back-to-back and divided by scrolling brackets headed by a feline mask; the stem of an orb set with carnelian agate and amethyst colored semi-precious stones rising to a smooth columnar shaft encircled by serpent with acanthus knop over a bejeweled flange and having a spherical capital with cast masks and winged figures, surmounted by an orb with applied gilt-cast petal and leaf adornments issuing eight acanthus-headed scrolling reeded arms dressed with crystal pendulums terminating in foliate drip pans and stiff leaf nozzles surmounted by a musical playing maiden figure. Each measures 42 x 21 inches each. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Very good condition noting minor misshapen decorative elements with the figural surmounts, minor soiling and discoloration, mismatched bobeche.
