85: AN IMPRESSIVE 24-INCH CONTINENTAL PORCELAIN BOLTED URN

An exceptional example of finely executed hand painted porcelain from the Hutschenreuther porcelain factory circa 1940s. A tribute to Royal Vienna porcelain with perfectly executed elaborate gold decoration on deep cobalt ground, gilt finial and handles, a beautifully executed painting of Europa and The Bull, the tale from Greek mythology where Europa is tricked into climbing onto the back of a beautiful, mysterious white bull, Zeus in disguise, who kidnaps her to Crete. The opposite side with a classical scene of semi-nude maidens and cherubs picking flowers. All the decoration is painted by hand, there are no areas of transfer or decal. Two-piece bolted construction, signed Hutschenreuther Hohenberg Abteilung Dresden Handmalerei on the base and inside the cover. Measures 24 x 17 inches across the handles. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches, areas of wear, rubs, gold wear or any other type or degree condition issues. Near mint condition.
