207: A CASSINA 'LC4' CHAISE LOUNGE AFTER LE CORBUSIER

(Late 20th Century)
The innovative adjustable chaise inspired by the contour of the human frame is comprised of a tubular chromium steel frame slung with elastic straps beneath the actual cowhide mat riding on a black enamel steel stand where it may slide to recline, a black leather bolster at the head.

A 1928 prototype of this design by the Swiss-French architect and designer Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, known as Le Corbusier, was exhibited at the Paris Salon d'Automne in 1929.
Measures 28 x 63 x 21.5 inches.
Very good virtually unused condition throughout with the original tags. There are no signs of use, no issues of damage, repair or wear. This is consigned from the home of a world traveler who spends a small amount of time at home.
