14: A 19th C. CAST BRONZE HEAD OF ROMAN EMPEROR AUGUSTUS

A very fine Grand Tour bronze casting from the third quarter of the 19th century in dark green patina, after the 1st Century AD Roman marble bust. Measures 19 inches high and approximately 10 inches wide, great detail and perfect patina, mounted to a plaster-filled slate base. There are no markings. Provenance: The Joseph Candioto Trust. We ship in-house for all items with the exception of very large and or very fragile pieces and some international shipments.
Noting three small flakes from the outer edge of the circular base, the condition is very good without other issues of damage or repair. There are no scratches, dings, rubs, or discoloration to the bronze portion or patina. The bust does move about a bit on the mounting bolt, that bolt may be a replacement.
