The Glory of Steel
The commissioned work for Ohio Steel Foundry titled 'The Glory of Steel' verso, signed lower left front.
Growing up in Bloomington, Indiana, Fulwider was drawn to and spent much of his time exploring the steel mills, rail yards and industrial complexes of his home town; particularly the sheds and rail yards of Fulwider Lumber, his father's company. The giant boilers, locomotives, smoke stacks and train cabooses that occupied his mind in lieu of school studies would later populate his paintings.
Works by Edwin Fulwider were included in the exhibition 'Under the Influence: The Students of Thomas Hart Benton,' Albrecht_Kemper Museum of Art, St. Joseph, Missouri, 1993.
Size size of 10.5 x 14 in a 14.75 x 18.25 inch frame.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up.
