15: A VERY RARE METTLACH POTTERY HIRES ROOT BEER COASTER

The circular pottery coaster or tray with dish edge, the Hires boy with mug raised and slogan 'Join Health and Cheer' with 'Drink Hires Root Beer.' Signed Villeroy and Boch, Mettlach in green back side, circa 1900.
Measures 5 inches.
Very, very good condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs; light wear to the high points of the raised wreath pattern edge.
Provenance: The 45-year collection of Michael and Donna Hayes, West Plains, Missouri.
