A rare and special piece with expertly chased depictions of thistle flowerheads among twining thistle leaves and stems in great detail across the waisted form with pronounced spout, the high arching handle is beautifully peened to create a handsome and pronounced pattern of hand hammered texture, the majority of the body displays similar hammer marks throughout - most visible within the interior, the whole raised on a four-lobe base with arching thistle leaves framing a single flower head at each foot, stamped signature on the underside of the base, beautiful patina.
Measures 14.5 x 10 x 7.5 inches, weight 53.95 ozt.
Very good condition throughout, there are no monograms or engraving, no damage repair, little, if any wear - the detail is crisp and with great patina.
