1: A PAUL EVANS WELDED FRONT CABINET WITH ENAMELS

Paul Evans
(Circa 1970.)
The wall mounted model PE 40A for Directional Furniture, Brutalist influence sculpted door fronts with patination and enamels, riveted sheet metal covering each side and underside, original slate top, painted interior, signed in weld underside of the proper left door.
The most recent owner, passed at the age of 104 years old, was not allowed to mount this cabinet on the wall of her most recent home, an independent and assisted living facility in Overland Park, Kansas. Thus, a base was fashioned from thick acrylic as shown here.
The cabinet itself measures 17.5 inches in height, 48.5 inches long, 16.5 inches deep. The height on acrylic stands equals 33.75 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage repair or heavy wear. An acrylic base has been attached to the underside, as illustrated.
Provenance: Harritt Family Estate, Kansas.
