Lettering below the image 'The Bruiser, C. Churchill (once the Revd:!) in the Character of a Modern Hercules, Regaling himself after having Kill'd the Monster Caricatura that so Sorely Gall'd his Virtuous friend, the Heaven born Wilkes/ - But he had a Club this Dragon to Drub,/Or he had ne'er don't I warrant ye: -' and publication line, 'Design'd and Engraved by Wm. Hogarth Price Is/Publish'd according to Act of Parliament August 1. 1763.'
Measures 21 x 17 inches.
Adhered to a cardboard backing. Light toning and stains, glue residue on the lower margin, light mat burn.
Provenance: The Van Dyke family of Marshall, Missouri, proprietors of a four generation family business specializing in Real Estate, Abstract and Title work.
