114: A SANTO DOMINGO INLAID SHELL NECKLACE

A modern geometric inlaid spiny oyster shell necklace from the Santo Domingo pueblo of the Rio Grande river valley in New Mexico, the shell is artfully inlaid with a mosaic of turquoise, sponge coral, mother of pearl, abalone, jet and serpentine, hung from an inlaid bale and seven strands of hand cut heishi, finished with sterling cones and a hook-and-eye closure, carved signature of 'CTN SOP' back side of the shell.
Necklace measures 21.5 inches. shell is 2.5 x 3.25 inches.
Excellent condition, no signs of major wear, all the stones are intact and secure.
