46: KIRK SMITH (1957-2012) STERLING/TURQUOISE NECKLACE

An outstanding example of the artist's work, the princess length necklace with three large turquoise and coral enhancers crafted by the late Navajo silversmith Kirk Smith of New Mexico. The stones are natural blue green Nevada turquoise with rich brown and gold webbed matrix, sixteen calibrated red Mediterranean coral cabochons adorned with twisted wire work and sterling drops, the whole strung on tiger tail.
Signed 'Kirk Smith', stamped 'Sterling.'
Measures 17.25 inches, turquoise stones measure approximately 2 inches, beads are 2.7 mm.
Very fine condition with no signs of wear, stones are all intact, bezels are tight, great vintage patina.
