Stamped hallmarks for Heath and Middleton, London, 1891, the pear-form cut glass pitcher with alternating pointed ovoid reserves of strawberry diamonds and caning patterns, mounted with sterling silver lidded collar stamped with clear maker's and date marks, angled spout with ear shaped handle. This claret jug was used as illustration on page 205 of Wine Antiques and Collectibles by: Donald A. Bull and Joseph C. Paradi, Schiffer Publishing, 2013.
Measures 9 x 5.5 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or issues of wear on silver or glass, no monograms.
