136: AN UNUSUAL FRENCH MOBIER TALL CASE CALENDAR CLOCK

Circa 1820, the embossed brass dial surround surmounted by a sunburst motif and sheaves of wheat, porcelain enamel dial with Roman numeral chapter ring, inner scale of Arabic numerals for the 30 day calendar, brass and steel rod pendulum drop suspending a large brass bob; the tall case displays its original painted decoration executed in tandem with shallow floral carvings and incised lines. This is an unusual example in both the calendar feature and the case decoration.
Measures 88 x 16.75 x 7.5 inches.
Very good original condition. Running condition at the time of inspection though no timepieces can be guaranteed once removed from the premises, minor dial hairlines at the 4 o'clock position.
