63: A NEOCLASSICAL MARBLE FOUNTAIN WITH PUTTO, 9 FEET

The upper section with carved putto holding a dolphin above a shallow mask-adorned basin on an acanthus baluster pedestal, over three attendant putti each holding a dolphin, basket of fruit and a gargoyle, above a low carrara marble pedestal and marble formed basin encircled by a carved foliate band and masked corbels, supported on a truncated bulbous column support and egg-and-dart adorned socle base. There are additional carved putto figures not shown in their place on the lower basin. Both are detached and with damage.
Measures approximately 108 x 46 inches (basin diameter).
A large chip on one edge of the lowest basin edge approximately 8 inches long, two carved putto figures with damage are detached from the lower basin, various scattered hairline cracks, extended areas of pronounced edge roughness, one leg broken from a winged griffon, the two putto shown sit on the edges of the basin and have sustained damage, though most of the broken pieces are present.
