60: A PAIR MARCOLINI MEISSEN CANDLESTICKS WITH INSECTS

A pair Marcolini period (c.1774 to 1814) Meissen porcelain candlesticks, each having a circular spreading scalloped foot with short waisted drum base, rising on a triple knopped standard supporting a fluted paneled nozzle, decorated overall with alternating birds on foliaged trees, flowers, insects and pink stylized anthemion leaves, the whole with gilt highlights.
Measure 9.5 x 6.75 inches each.
One stick has suffered a separation just below the nozzle, repaired with a central bolt and thus uneven in some positions. There are no other chips, cracks, repairs.
