A large 19th century oil on canvas AFTER Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot (French, 1796-1875), a copy of Le Torrent Pierreaux Crepuscule / The Pierreaux Torrent (Twilight), a Barbizon School landscape circa 1865 - 1870. Provenance: The Sam & Rie Bloomfield Foundation Collection bequest to a Kansas University.
Measures 23-7/8 x 35-1/4 inches, 30-1/4 x 42 inches overall.
Very good condition. Old (early 20th century?) re-lining, a very few minor edge touches revealed under UV light, an 8-inch vertical line of paint lifting with minor loss as shown in images 3 and 7 here, no other damage or repair.
